Recently I helped shoot The Honey Month‘s new film clip for their single Foliage.  The clip is currently “Indie Clip of the Week” on ABC1′s television program Rage.

Crossbow Productions is an Australian theatre company, whose representative media did not accurately reflect their well-established character, and as such requested a design overhaul for their branding and promotional material. This project endeavored to create not only appropriate design solutions, but rather a new and coherent distinct visual identity for the company across all public discourses. Branding and art direction are displayed in the form of logo design, and web and print layouts (posters, programs, and a postcard series for the upcoming production ‘Freud’s Bird Of Prey’).

Taking into consideration Crossbow’s target demographic, values, needs and goals, this art direction project also mirrors the theatre company’s unique approach of straddling both traditional and contemporary concepts. Aesthetically, this has been conveyed through the medium of illustration for the print media outcomes – with the influence of classic theatre posters in combination with a modern twist as the design style. The logo and website design adhere to a more minimal design style, reflecting the professional and sophisticated nature of the Crossbow company.

‘Dig’ is an interactive sound and visual experience, which encourages playful immersion in music. In the form of a tangible media installation, it allows the discovery of objects hidden within a unique digging interface, and engages participants through interaction with audio and visuals in real-time.

The setup features a sandpit-like area filled with rubber granules (kindly supplied by Reclaim Industries), which cover specially designed fixed objects.

The visuals are displayed above the pit and, as the participant beings to dig, they start to discover the objects. Noticeable audible and visual changes occur as they play their way through the experience. Although Dig allows opportunity for completion, the objective is not to play to win, but rather play to play.

The song the project is based around is ‘Enough to Make You Smile’ by Brisbane electronica artist Hunz. Hunz’s music is comprised of many tracks layered together to create diverse and unique rhythms and melodies.

Ultimately, Dig seeks to immerse anyone who likes to play and discover.

Dig was exhibited at QUT’s Interchange Exhibition, November 10-11, 2010.

It is currently featured in QUT’s Shape of Things to Come Exhibition.

Animated motion comic, written, illustrated and animated alongside Seana Seeto and Nic Fornasier. Inspired by the true events of the gorilla ‘Bokito’, at the Rotterdam Zoo.

I recently hand made this printed portfolio of my work. Made from things found around the home, gaffer tape and cardboard for binding, brown paper for page envelopes.

Typeface design. Inspired by both the Art Deco and Cubism art movements, Honeybear is a distinctive new display font that is best used to aid in the creation of playful but professional, unique designs.

A series of illustrations, which explore the idea of bringing playfulness to serious expression.  The works endeavour to represent my own unique style, by merging my photography with layered textures, line drawing and watercolours, through digital manipulation.

Concept for iPhone app, logo, website and demonstration video.  Get There allows users to organise transport to events easily. Through integration with Facebook Events and Google Maps, the app provides options for both carpooling and public transport and reminds you when to leave, in order to get there on time.
